Still saving files as FINAL_v2_FINAL_LAST? Discover a simple file-naming and delivery system for designers, photographers, video editors, freelancers, and creative teams.

FINAL_v2_FINAL_LAST.zip

If you work in design, photography, video editing, content creation, or an agency, you have probably seen filenames like these:

FINAL.psd
FINAL_v2.psd
FINAL_NEW.psd
FINAL_NEW_CLIENT.psd
FINAL_v2_FINAL_LAST.psd

It usually starts with one simple file.

Then comes one revision.
Then another.
Then a “small change.”
Then a client correction.

And suddenly, nobody knows which file is actually final.

The problem is not just messy folders. Poor file naming can lead to the wrong version being shared, unnecessary rework, confused clients, and wasted time.

Here is a much simpler way to manage it.

Visual Direction:
A realistic designer's desktop showing several files with names such as FINAL.psd, FINAL_v2.psd, FINAL_NEW.psd, and FINAL_v2_FINAL_LAST.psd. One confused creative professional looking at the screen. Clean, premium, modern visual.

A Simple Rule: Stop Calling Everything “Final”

“Final” is not really a version number.

Imagine you create:

Campaign_FINAL.psd

The client asks for one more change.

What happens next?

Campaign_FINAL_NEW.psd

Then another change:

Campaign_FINAL_NEW_2.psd

This is how file chaos begins.

Instead, use a simple numbered system:

Campaign_v01.psd
Campaign_v02.psd
Campaign_v03.psd

Now you immediately know which version came first and which one is the latest.

Visual Direction:
Split-screen comparison.

Left side: messy filenames such as FINAL, FINAL_NEW, FINAL_LATEST.

Right side: clean filenames such as v01, v02, v03.

Keep the visual minimal and professional.

Use One File-Naming Formula

A useful file name should tell you what the file is without opening it.

Try this format:

CLIENT_PROJECT_ASSET_VERSION

For example:

ABC_SummerCampaign_Instagram_v03.psd

or

SmithWedding_Highlights_v04.mp4

or

BrandX_ProductCatalogue_v07.pdf

This simple structure tells you:

  • who the project belongs to,

  • what the project is,

  • what the file contains,

  • and which version you are looking at.

No guessing required.

ABC_SummerCampaign_Instagram_v03.psd

Use small callouts pointing toward:

ABC = Client
SummerCampaign = Project
Instagram = Asset
v03 = Version

Keep the Client Delivery Folder Clean

Your working folder may contain 20, 30, or even 50 files.

Your client does not need to see all of them.

Create one separate folder called:

FINAL DELIVERY

Put only the approved files inside.

For example:

BrandX_Logo_RGB.png
BrandX_Logo_Print.pdf
BrandX_Logo_Source.ai

Now the person receiving the work knows exactly which files to use.

A professional delivery should not require a message saying:

“Please use the third file, not the second one.”

Left: WORKING FILES — 37 ITEMS, visually cluttered.

Right: FINAL DELIVERY — 3 ITEMS, clean and organized.

Highlight the clean delivery folder.

And When It Is Ready, Keep the Delivery Simple Too

Once your files are properly named and organized, sending them should be just as straightforward.

Instead of splitting the project into several messages or sending multiple versions separately, put the approved files together and share them through one clean transfer link.

With BhejDe.in, you can upload your final project files and share one link with your client, colleague, or team.

BhejDe currently supports up to 6 GB free, making it useful for large files such as:

  • PSD and design files

  • ZIP folders

  • Print files

  • Presentation assets

  • Client deliverables

The goal is simple:

Organize it. Name it. Upload it. Bhej De.

Final Thought

Your client may never compliment your file-naming system.

But they will notice when everything is clear, organized, and easy to access.

So the next time you are about to save:

FINAL_v2_FINAL_LAST.zip

stop for a second.

Try:

ProjectName_v05.zip

Your future self may thank you.

Keep the files clean. Keep the delivery simple.
